If the police Yoo Ah-in continues to refuse to investigate they will consider an arrest warrant
Actress Yoo Ah-in (Eom Hong-sik, 37) who is suspected of taking five types of drugs, including cocaine, was absent from the second police investigation, and the police announced their plan to summon them as soon as possible.
Woo Jong-soo, head of the National Investigation Division of the National Police Agency, said at a meeting on the 15th, “It would be better to coordinate the attendance date as soon as possible and be investigated.”
Yoo Ah-in was scheduled to undergo a second police investigation on the 11th, but he refused to investigate and returned home because there were many reporters in front of the Mapo building of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
The police notified the attendance schedule again, but Yoo Ah-in is reportedly in a position to guarantee a private summons. If Yoo Ah-in continues to refuse to summon, the police say they will mobilize compulsory measures such as arrest and request for an arrest warrant.
Director Woo said, “We cannot disclose (the investigation plan) because (Yoo Ah-in) is very sensitive to the date and timing of the summons.”
Asked if Yoo Ah-in would consider applying for an arrest or arrest warrant if he refuses to investigate, citing a closed-door investigation, he said, “If it is not coordinated, it will naturally have to be done.”
On the other hand, Yoo Ah-in’s legal representative said, “Eom Hong-sik tried to investigate even when the attendance schedule was already revealed. The lawyer asked for possible measures such as access to other channels in accordance with the principle of private summons, but the police did not accept it.”
He also protested that he did not refuse to investigate the police on the grounds of reporters, saying, “Although the circumstances are unknown, even additional consultation processes between the police and lawyers are being reported in real time, and distorted articles are being reported as if Um Hong-sik refuses to attend just because of reporters.”
